U.S. Jersey has a new staffer – Sara A. Barlass, Tully, N.Y. Sara will work in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, New Jersey and Delaware as an Area Representative, and travel the nation as a cow-side evaluator.

Most recently employed by a large animal veterinary practice in central New York, Barlass has nearly 10 years experience in herd and calf-heifer management at commercial dairy operations ranging in size from 600 to 1,900 head, and at Sycamore Hill Farm, a 300-head Registered Jersey™ dairy near Syracuse, N.Y. She was also the dairy research/operations coordinator at the Agway Farm Research Center, a 500-animal facility conducting feeding trials, from 1996 to 1998.

A native of Wisconsin, Barlass grew up on her family’s dairy near Janesville. She earned a B.S. in agriculture, specializing in agricultural journalism and public relations at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
