Wegner to Lead Darigold

News EditorCompany Announcement

Congratulations to Jim Wegner, who has been named president and chief executive officer of Northwest Dairy Association (NDA) and Darigold.

Darigold, a marketing and processing subsidiary of the NDA, said the new president and CEO will replace John Underwood, who will retire from the company. Underwood will serve as special executive to the board of directors and will assist with the transition.

Wegner, who served as Darigold’s technical services senior vice president, has assumed his new role on August 1. In his 35 years of experience in the dairy industry, Wegner spent 28 years at another national dairy company as director of dairy operations overseeing plants in both the US and Canada.

Wegner, who has been an effective national voice in negotiating dairy policy, served on the Board of Directors for various state and national dairy industry organizations.

Northwest Dairy Association member-owner and board of directors chairman Jim Werkhoven said Wegner has been a key figure in improving and supporting the company’s plants as a member of the Management Committee of Darigold for the last seven years.
