Schreiber Foods has announced the closure of their Ravenna, Neb. plant, effective February 2013.
Close to 80 employees will lose their jobs, some as early as October.
“It’s going to hurt the community. The people who came here maybe they stopped and shopped here,” said Ravenna Mayor Peg Dethlefs. “The ones that are living here are they going to find employment to stay here or are they going to have to move on, so it’s a big impact to the community.”
Schreiber Foods shares the same facility as Leprino Foods which is also a cheese production plant.
