  • The American Meat Science Association (AMSA) has announced that Dennis Seman, Craig Bacon and Mark Miller an AMSA Fellow and recipient of the 2015 AMSA Signal Service Award. The award was established in 1956 and is given to members in recognition of devoted service and lasting contributions to the meat industry and to the association. The Signal Service Awards are sponsored by Cargill, Johnsonville Sausage Company and Elanco Animal Health.
  • Angus Media, a subsidiary of the American Angus Association® in Saint Joseph, Mo., welcomes three interns this summer to its ranks of communications and marketing professionals. Sarah Harris will serve as the communications intern and Nicole Lane and Raney Lovorn as editorial interns.
  • The Animal Agriculture Alliance Board of Directors has elected Sherrie Webb, director of animal welfare for the National Pork Board (NPB), as chairperson of its board of directors. Webb’s two-year term in this position began May 1.
  • Grand Island, Neb. will serve as home for the 16th annual Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE). The event will be from Saturday, June 27 till Friday, July 3 and is expected to be record-breaking with more than 800 exhibitors from 39 states with 2,030 pre-entries including: steers, cow-calf pairs, bred-and-owned bulls, junior AI bulls, bred-and-owned heifers, junior AI heifers and owned heifers.
