Now we have more of a reason to celebrate the snackable form of cheese capturing the appetites of people across the country. And Culver’s continues to be a strong supporter of the agriculture community.

An essential product of the cheesemaking process, cheese curds have been a staple of Midwest diets for generations, and a go-to at Culver’s since 1997. Culver’s cheese curds start with dairy-fresh little chunks of yellow and white Wisconsin cheddar that are breaded and deep-fried golden brown for a warm, buttery crunch. And the secret to the perfect crunch? Each order hits the fryers only after it’s placed to ensure each curd is piping hot and ooey-gooey.

“We’re excited that cheese curds finally have a day of their own,” said Craig Culver, co-founder of Culver’s. “We hope people will celebrate by visiting their local Culver’s. If you’ve never tried a cheese curd, this is the day to do it.”

It’s not just the restaurants in the dairy state that love curds. More than 16.2 million delicious orders of Wisconsin Cheese Curds were served in over 550 restaurants in 22 states last year. With an average of 32 curds per order, that’s over 614 billion bites of the unique, young little chunks of Wisconsin cheese.

To highlight the newest national holiday, Culver’s launched the “Golden Cheese Curd Sweepstakes.” For each purchase of cheese curds from Oct. 5 to Nov. 1, 2015, a golden ticket will be given with a code that can be entered online for the chance to win $1,000 in Culver’s Gift Cards and cheese curds for a year, as well as other prizes.
