- Tom Colyer, Gwendolyn Kitzan, Martin Auza, and Jeffrey Oatman have been appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack, to serve on the American Lamb Board. Each appointee will serve a three-year term, effective January 2016. The Board is composed of six producers, three feeders, one seedstock producer and three first handlers.

- Induction into the Saddle and Sirloin Portrait Gallery is the highest honor bestowed in the livestock industry. Angus breeder Dave Nichols, Bridgewater, Iowa, was honored as the 2015 inductee during a ceremony Nov. 15 at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.
