Protecting your herd against porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) just became more convenient. In an effort to give producers and veterinarians a broader choice of sizes, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI) now offers a 250-dose option for Ingelvac PRRS® MLV.
Ingelvac PRRS® MLV is recommended for vaccination of healthy, susceptible pigs, sows and gilts as an aid in the prevention of respiratory disease and in the reduction of reproductive disease associated with PRRS virus. It is also available in 10-dose and 50-dose bottles.
“Ingelvac PRRS® vaccines have been effectively used for more than 20 years to reduce the impact of PRRS when susceptible pigs are faced with a disease challenge,” says Reid Philips, DVM, PRRS technical manager for BIVI. “The new 250-dose units add to the convenience of using the vaccine for customers, especially those with larger systems.”
Philips says there are several reasons producers and veterinarians should consider using Ingelvac PRRS® MLV in their operations. “Ingelvac PRRS® MLV has demonstrated cross-protection against relevant wild-type strains of PRRSv and continues to be evaluated and tested as new PRRS strains are discovered,” he adds.
Ingelvac PRRS® MLV is also convenient as producers can use it during any stage of production and it has been proven safe and efficacious in pigs, gilts and sows.
