  • Ohio State University recently received a $4,600 student recruiting grant from the USPOULTRY Foundation. The funds will be used to provide animal and meat science students with exposure to the poultry industry, on a state and national level, to help better understand the scope of the poultry industry. The students will have an opportunity to experience poultry judging contests, attend major poultry industry conventions and visit state industry partners.
  • Cooperatives Working Together (CWT) has accepted 11 requests for export assistance from Dairy Farmers of America, the Michigan Milk Producers Association, the Northwest Dairy Association and Tillamook County Creamery Association, who have contracts to sell 2.216 million pounds of Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, and 3.948 million pounds of whole milk powder to customers in Asia, the Middle East and South America.
  • National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) has named Bill Davis senior director of governmental relations. Davis will be located in Washington, D.C., and will report to Nick Giordano, NPPC vice president and counsel, global government affairs.
