AAEP The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) is presenting three continuing education meetings during summer 2016 for equine veterinarians to use as resources to supplement their foundational knowledge with the latest diagnostics and treatments in core areas of horse health. Each meeting will feature a team of presenters from both private practice and academia.

Events include a 360° meeting on equine neck pain, held June 19-22, in at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. The forum will integrate lectures and small group wet labs into an immersive, hands-on learning experience. This program is limited to 20 participants, and is designed to help attendees improve their use of in-the-field imagining diagnostics and therapeutic modalities to identify and treat cervical spine issues.

Two jointly held Focus meetings will also be held this summer in New Orleans, Louisiana, from July 25-27. The Focus meetings are designed to present current, evidence-based knowledge in distinct areas of medicine and will enable attendees to participate in sessions of both meetings for one price.

The first Focus meeting, ‘Focus on the Breeding Shed’, offers practical sessions and case-based discussions that are designed to help practitioners understand ways that proper facility design and appropriate resources, including assisted reproductive techniques, can improve the success of client reproductive programs.

The second Focus meeting, ‘Focus on Soft Tissue Lameness in the Performance Horse’, is designed to expose practitioners to new approaches for treating soft-tissue injury,a common cause of lameness. The meeting will discuss novel imaging and treatment techniques, new data on hindlimb suspensory desmopathy, soft tissue impact on thoracolumbar lameness, and bisphosphonate therapy.

Registration for each summer meeting is now open. To view a scientific program, register, or make hotel reservations, visit the registration website.
