alltech Alltech recently announced the launch of the Alltech Aquaculture Postgraduate Program, a joint research partnership with the world-renowned University of Stirling Institute of Aquaculture in Scotland. The program launch will serve as an opportunity to fill a number of postgraduate positions within the company’s growing aquaculture division.

“Alltech’s aquaculture division is of growing importance to the company as we continue to provide natural, nutritional solutions to overcome challenges faced by all aquaculture species throughout the production cycle,” said Keith Filer, project manager for aquaculture research at Alltech. “For example, owning the only fully-operational, large-scale algae production facility in the world, we are capable of totally replacing fish oil, which is crucial for aquaculture. We are searching for candidates who are highly motivated and share the company’s passion for this growing industry.”

The program will allow candidates to scientifically evaluate Alltech’s aquaculture product range, as well as examine issues such as fish health and disease, nutrigenomics, sustainable aquaculture feed formulation and fillet quality. Research is a key component of the program, and participants will have significant exposure to both laboratory and farm-based trials, as well as global travel within Alltech’s key aquaculture markets. Alltech has an Aquaculture Research Center in Kentucky, with plans to open another in Europe.
