Boehringer Ingelheim had a strong presence at the 2017 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show. Not only did AgWired’s Jamie Johansen find them sponsoring the media room, they also sponsored the Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program and support the Stockmen and Stewardship program. It’s the right thing for producers, cattle, and ultimately the consumer Steve Boren, Boehringer Ingelheim executive director of U.S. cattle business segment, told Jamie.

They also discussed Boehringer’s acquisition of Merial and just what that will mean for the men and women raising the nation’s beef. “The resources we bring for cattle producers in the future will be ever increasingly greater as there is a larger commitment to R&D for new product development as well as implementation of some of the best practices that we can share within the industry for the product portfolios that we can bring together,” Boren says.

Together the companies will be able to offer the largest portfolio of preventions in the industry, something they prefer to focus on in leu of treatments. For producers already using their many well-known products, never fear, product labels and names will stay the same Boren assures.
