Registration is still open for the 2017 Animal Agriculture Alliance Stakeholders Summit to be held May 3-4, 2017, in Kansas City, Missouri. This year’s event comes as the Alliance celebrates 30 years of bridging the communication gap between farm and fork.

The Summit will feature a panel spotlight on broiler welfare, a topic of interest to several animal activist groups that have indicated current or future plans to launch pressure campaigns targeting consumer-facing brands. The panel will help attendees understand the issue and how to best supply agriculture’s restaurant, retail and foodservice partners with truthful information about broiler production, welfare and stunning as they prepare to navigate demands from activists, address sustainability and animal welfare, and meet the needs of their customers.

Panelists will include
Kate Barger Weathers, DVM – Director of World Animal Welfare at Cobb-Vantress, Inc.
Mike Morris – Manager of Food Animal Programs for Yum! Brands
Ken Opengart, DVM, PhD – Vice President of Live Operations/Processing and Corporate Social Responsibility for Keystone Foods
Matt Salois, PhD – Director of Global Scientific Affairs and Policy for Elanco Animal Health
