Thanks to Chris Thilk at Adjab who found a story in the San Francisco Chronicle about an interesting new marketing campaign by the California Milk Processor Board. It involves artificially creating the smell of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies at bus stops in the hopes that people will want to go home and have some with a glass of milk.
When the aromatic strips are installed in five shelters in the Union Square, Financial District and Nob Hill neighborhoods starting Monday for a monthlong trial, it will be the first such campaign in the United States.
