Oregon crowned a new Dairy Princess-Ambassador on January 13th, Shannon Henderson of Tillamook county. Kristine Duyck was named first alternate and Miss Congeniality.

In an interview, Henderson said she got interested in the program when she was a little girl. “I saw the dairy princesses and got their autographs, and I just knew that eventually I’d be running for the state ambassador program position.” Henderson said she learned about the dairy industry when she was growing up by helping at an aunt and uncle’s dairy in Tillamook, helping clean pens and working in the milking parlor.
