Indstury Event Open to Nebraska Dairymen

Nebraska dairy farmers are invited to attend an industry event Thursday and Friday, March 17-18, at the Howard Johnson Riverside Inn in Grand Island, Neb.

The event will carry out the business of several organizations, and providing educational sessions and fellowship for the state’s 250-plus dairy producer families and those who support them.

Annual meetings or board meetings of the Nebraska State Dairy Association, the Nebraska Division of Midwest Dairy Association, the Nebraska Holstein Association, the Nebraska Dairy Women, Nebraska Dairy Industry Development Board, Nebraska Dairy Industry Review Board and Mid-States Milk Carriers Association will take place.

An industry trade show is part of the event, along with a wine and cheese reception. The new Nebraska Dairy Princess will also be crowned during the evening banquet on Thursday, March 17.

Educational sessions include the presentation “Utilizing Leases as a Tax and Cash Flow Tool” by Dan Crest of CoBank Farm Credit Leasing, and a Dairy Animal Health Issues Roundtable led by Michael Moore, a veterinarian with Novartis Animal Health.

A full itinerary can be viewed online. The event is open and free to all Nebraska dairy producers, families and guests. Attendees are responsible for their own lodging.
