The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) is promising a hot time in San Antonio, Texas, this winter, for the Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show, Feb. 4-7, 2015. Just one of the many highlights will be the 2015 Cattlefax U.S. Global & Grain Outlook Seminar on Thursday, Feb. 5.
Prices for all classes of cattle set record highs in 2014. Will the higher trend continue in 2015? The international market has stayed strong in spite of record high prices around the world and U.S. beef continues to be in demand by more countries. Will the pressure of beef demand, tested by high prices and increasing amounts of competitive protein, spill over to cattle prices moving ahead?
Expansion looms due to more favorable weather conditions as well as record profits. Dr. Art Douglas will forecast if weather conditions will continue to be favorable for both expansion of the beef herd as well as for another bumper grain crop. While volatility is a way of life, the more information you can obtain starting the new year increases the chances of successful cattle marketing and maximizing profit potential.
