The Livestock Publications Council held a first ever “Vision, An Industry Celebration” event in Kansas City this week. The event brings together members and others from the agricultural industry to honor their Headliner and Hall of Fame Award winners.
This year’s Hall of Fame Inductee is Wayne Bollum (posthumously). His plaque was unveiled and after watching a short video of his career and accomplishments Jay Carlson, made some remarks.
Receiving the LPC Headliner Award was J. David Nichols, pictured with his wife Phyllis. We also got to see a video about Dave’s career in the livestock industry and his belief and successful use of farm publications.
Before we were finished the LPC announced the 2015 recipients of these awards.
For 2015 the Headliner award is being bestowed on Miles McKee. Miles retired from Kansas State and still advises students in livestock production.
The 2015 Hall of Fame inductees are Dick and Pete Crow, Crow Publications, a family business for almost 100 years.
