The team from Midwest Dairy Association was out in full force for National Association of Farm Broadcasting’s Trade Talk. I spoke with Mike Kruger, Midwest Dairy’s CEO, about current market trends, new partnerships formed to promote milk and how they instill consumer confidence into each and every product they produce.
“Things have been going very well for dairy farmers in 2014. We have had some of the highest milk prices in history and thats a reflection on a very strong demand both domestically and internationally for US produced dairy.”
In a recent annual meeting Mike said McDonald’s, Domino’s, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Quaker and even Coca-Cola were present to talk about ways they can sell dairy products. “It’s really a reflection of the quality partnerships we bring. We offer dairy expertise and innovation to partners who then use to develop products on their menus and drive it out into the marketplace.”
Mike said the dairy checkoff is all about three things: sales, innovation and the consumers trust in our product. Dairy farmers have a great story to tell and Midwest Dairy is all about making sure that story is in the hands of consumers.
