QIAGEN’s Farm to Fork event at the recent International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) brought attendees together to learn more about novel molecular tools for animal pathogen and food quality testing in labs. Dr. Carsten Schroeder, QIAGEN’s Director of Market Development Veterinary Applications, was there and explained a little more about QIAGEN’s plans for global expansion.
“QIAGEN is well-known across Europe as a provider not just for sample prep, automation and in-house diagnostics, but also for emerging animal disease detection. This is something that is pretty new in the United States and we are just starting to make these products legally available in the United States.”

Dr. Marcia Armstrong, Global Scientific Affairs Manager, was also on hand to help explain the farm to fork efforts at QIAGEN. “Food is safe if the farming practices are safe. If you want to eliminate pathogens then you have to control the pathogens within the production site. That is part of the whole farm to fork mentality here.”
