The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) will use a new theme, “Be the Future,” to help generate awareness of the upcoming 2015 Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board director election. By serving on the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB), producers can take action and join the bold leadership that promotes America’s Dairyland.
“Dairy is Wisconsin’s signature industry, fueling the state’s econcomy at more than $82,500 per minute,” said Agriculture Secretary Ben Brancel. “If you are a dairy producer and you care about how your check-off dollars are spent, this is an opportunity to be the future and make your voice heard.”
In addition to the new theme, DATCP also released the 2015 Election Calendar, which starts almost one month later than previous years’ elections. This timeline change is structured according to DATCP’s Marketing Order Rules. In 2015, the director nomination period runs through April 1, and the election period is May 2-23.
