John Block reports each week from Washington and this week he is tackling the topic we are all still talking about…the EPA’s overreach.
Andy Johnson of Fort Bridger, WY is being sued by the EPA for $37,500 per day for a stock pond on his farm. Before building the pond Johnson obtained a state permit, which Wyoming Governor, Matt Mead, says is compliance with state law. The EPA says he is in violation of federal law by constructing a dam on a creek, despite the fact that stock ponds were exempt under the Clean Waters Act.
After months of negotiations, Mr. Johnson filed a lawsuit against the EPA to save his farm pond. He said, “We’re going to fight them all the way.”
