Screen Shot 2015-10-13 at 10.38.25 AMHere’s the next interview in our series on winners of the New Holland 1st Cut Competition. Chuck spoke by phone with David Nelson from Preston, Idaho who submitted this photo on his last round during sunset.

His family farm of land and dairy cattle has been in his family since 1888 and you can tell David is a proud 5th generation farmer. David said he found out about the competition through his local New Holland dealership. He said he is always taking pictures on the farm and believes he lives in a beautiful place, so this contest fit naturally for him.

Each winner of the 1st Cut Competition receives a one-year lease or the first 1,500 bales, whichever comes first on a New Holland Roll-Belt 450 Silage Special. David said he is excited to use the baler alongside their other one. Running two balers next year will make a big difference. If weather cooperates they might be able to get done early.
