The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine will open its doors to horse owners and equine industry professionals this February for the annual Purdue Veterinary Medicine Horseman’s Forum. The educational program will take place February 6, 2016, at Lynn Hall on the school’s West Lafayette, Indiana campus.
The forum will be presented as a one-day educational seminar, serving as a continuing education opportunity for owners and industry professionals. The inclusive program encourages attendees to engage in questions and open discussion. Presenters will feature invited speakers as well as Purdue Veterinary faculty and staff.
Educational sessions will touch on important issues in horse health, including basic preventive health care and husbandry topics such as hoof care, pasture management, alternative medicine, and biosecurity. State-of-the-art equine medical advancements will also be discussed.
In addition to the seminar’s educational sessions, attendees will receive a tour of the university’s large animal hospital, and an equine treadmill demonstration will be provided.
Attendees will be offered 5.5 continuing education credits at the completion of the workshop. Registration is $44 for regular attendees and $22 for students, faculty, and military personnel. If registering after Jan. 26, a $10 late fee will apply. Registration information is available online.
