NMPAN-header_r1_c1 Managing, treating and removing solid waste and wastewater often comes at a significant cost for small-scale meat processing facilities, and the Niche Meat Processor Assistance Network (NMPAN) will be hosting a free webinar on waste management for processing plants on March 30th. The webinar will begin at 1 pm ET and will last approximately one hour.

The webinar will provide a general overview on waste management for both solid waste and wastewater, and is perfect for those new to meat processing, or those looking for new ideas for their plant.

The speaker panel will include Thomas M. Bass of Montana State University Extension, Jean Bonhotal of the Cornell Waste Management Institute, and Brian H. Kiepper of the University of Georgia. The panel will discuss wastewater management, basic systems and pre-treatment options, and regulations. The webinar will also cover solid waste streams and solutions for dealing with them.

The webinar is free, open to the public, and can be viewed here on March 30th, with the link opening ten minutes prior to start.
