The Animal Agriculture Alliance has released several materials from the 2016 Animal Agriculture Alliance Stakeholders Summit. The materials from the 2016 Summit are now available online. The event attracted 250 attendees, making it the largest Summit to date.
Recorded presentations from the Summit’s 28 expert speakers are available here, along with presentations from the 2014 and 2015 Summits. Highlights and quotes from the sessions can be accessed here.
“If you weren’t part of the record crowd at this year’s Summit, I strongly encourage you to take the opportunity to watch the recorded presentations,” said Kay Johnson Smith, Alliance president and CEO. “Our speakers covered a wide range of topics impacting the future of animal agriculture through the lens of what each of us can be doing to take action for this industry that we are all personally and professionally passionate about. All of our attendees left energized and full of ideas, and we hope to spread that enthusiasm by sharing the top-quality presentations with a broader audience.
The Summit’s educational sessions explored a diverse variety of topics, including the opinions and preferences of consumers, how animal agriculture can provide solutions to restaurant/retail sector challenges, the 2016 election’s impact on agriculture, engaging with consumers and the media, changing the narrative around antibiotic use, the use of religion in the animal rights debate, and how to use social media to share stories.
Next year’s Summit will return to Kansas City May 3-4, 2017 at the InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza.
