The Dog Lover, the first of a slate of movies produced by Lucas Oil Products CEO Forrest Lucas and ESX Entertainment in Hollywood, will air in select theaters nationwide starting July 8. The film features James Remar, Lea Thompson, Jason Blair, Sherry Stringfield, Christina Moore and Allison Paige, and promises audiences a dramatic thriller about an animal rights activist who goes undercover at a dog-breeding facility, where the owner is suspected of inhumane treatment of animals.
Executive Producer Forrest Lucas and his non-profit organization, Protect The Harvest, paired with Ali Afshar of Hollywood to produce the film.
Protect The Harvest is a 501c3 non-profit that seeks to actively inform and communicate with the general public about issues regarding agriculture, hunting, fishing, and animal ownership, as well as the threats that animal rights groups and anti-farming extremists pose to producers and families across the nation.
The organization works to protect the freedoms and livelihoods of the Americans who make a living producing animals by creating lasting legal safeguards for farmers, ranchers, hunters, anglers, and animal owners, and makes a significant effort to respond to the activities of radical animal rights groups by opposing their efforts to pass laws or enact regulations that would restrict rights, limit freedoms, and hinder access to safe, affordable food.
