In this week’s audio report from the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF), Dan Halstrom, USMEF senior vice president for marketing gives a preview from the items he plans to discuss at this week’s Cattle Industry Summer Conference in Denver. Beef industry leaders from across the nation will gather for the conference, including the Export Growth Committee, a beef checkoff program committee that helps establish priorities and provide direction for foreign marketing programs for U.S. beef.

During the conference, Halstrom will provide committee members with update on checkoff-funded promotional activities and current market conditions in some of U.S. beef’s key markets.

“Our message this week is going to be really simple: We’ve got some very good momentum going, with twelve percent growth over the previous year for the month of May, but that’s really just the tip of the iceberg,” Halstrom says in the audio report.
