This week’s audio report from the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) provides a summary of U.S. pork and beef export results for the first six months of 2016.
The report highlights the success for U.S. pork and beef exports during June, and how that month’s success helped drive the export growth for the first sixth months of 2016.
Though demand may be leveling, China and Hong Kong were a large driver of pork export growth in the first half of this year. Exports to Japan gained significant momentum in June, as they were the largest in nearly two years, and Central America exports were strong as well.
Another summary of the January-June export results for U.S. pork, beef and lamb is available here, and USMEF has released complete monthly statistics that are available here.
