The students at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY will once again be greeted by Cornellia the cow when they stop by the Dairy Store for their milk fix. Wonder if Cornellia spent her time away at the beach or maybe in a certain frat house’s basement?
The fiberglass creature reappeared early Thursday. A small group of people in a black pickup truck with the cow riding in the back covered by a blue tarp unloaded it at the pitchers mound at Hoy Field just after midnight. Largely undamaged, Cornellia was wearing a wreath of fake red roses around its neck and a Cornell baseball shirt. A Rawlings baseball lay at its feet.
The cow, missing since late August, is valued at around $1,500. Cornellia also was stolen — and returned — in 2003, but the fate of her missing calf remains a mystery. One person involved in the prank vowed that the calf would return, but not until spring.
