Here’s the latest announcement from Cooperatives Working Together:
Cooperatives Working Together announced today that it accepted nine export assistance bids last week for the sale of cheese and butter.
The first five bids were from Dairy Farmers of America of Kansas City, MO: 114 metric tons (250,800 pounds) of Cheddar cheese to South Korea; a second bid of 57 metric tons (125,400 lbs.), again bound for South Korea, of mixed cheeses; another 57 metric tons (125,400 lbs.) of mixed cheeses for Panama, and a third shipment of 57 tons (125,400 lbs.) of mixed cheeses for El Salvador; and 12.3 metric tons (27,060 lbs.) of mixed cheeses for Japan.
The other four bids were from Land O’Lakes of Arden Hills, MN: 200 metric tons (440,000 lbs.) of butter to Turkey; 80 metric tons (176,000 lbs.) of Mozzarella cheese to South Korea; 38 metric tons (83,600 lbs.) of Cheddar cheese to El Salvador; and 8.7 metric tons (19,140 lbs.) of Parmesan cheese to South Korea.
CWT will pay an export bonus to the bidders, once completion of the butter and cheese shipments is verified.
