HP Hood, a New England dairy processor, has teamed up with the Boston Red Sox to give back to the community. It always nice to hear about these types of programs, especially in the dairy industry.
HP Hood will donate 20 seats to one of the 13 children’s hospitals supported by The Hood Home Team Advantage Program(TM) for each Sunday home game of the 2007 regular season. Hood made the remaining 200 Sunday game seats in Conigliaro’s Corner available for purchase exclusively to members of Red Sox Kid Nation.
The Hood Home Team Advantage Program is a charitable partnership with the Red Sox that has raised more than $500,000 for 13 children’s hospitals throughout New England since 2001. As with the donations from the Hood Home Team Advantage Program, the hospitals will benefit from the tickets at their discretion, such as by offering the seats to children and families being treated at their facilities, or by auctioning them to raise funds for programs.
“Thanks to Hood, we were able to send several of our patients and their families to watch the Red Sox defeat the New York Yankees at Fenway,” said Kathy Golden, public relations director for Shriners Hospitals for Children in Boston. “When our staff called each patient’s home to offer tickets to the game, there was so much excitement on the other end of the line. We are very thankful for Hood’s generous donation. The patients and their families had a wonderful time.”
