I’ve been tempted to watch the show “CSI” because one of my daughters finds it fascinating. So although I haven’t watched it, I do get to hear about it. Now, it looks like the dairy industry is getting closer to having the ability to track cow DNA even better than Gil Grissom can track a murder case. The Bovine Genome Sequencing Project, similar to the Human Genome Sequencing Project, is nearing completion after three years of work.

According to the press release: “The mapping of the bovine genome will make it possible to improve the health and disease management of cattle and enhance the nutritional value of beef and dairy products.”
