Now you can get your yogurt with a fizz – the General Mills’ Yoplait line has introduced a carbonated yogurt called Fizzix.
“The fizzy taste appeals to older children,” said Bob Waldron, president of the Yoplait division. Plus, it’s aimed to generate bigger profits for General Mills–or as Waldron told stock analysts, Fizzix will “sell at a higher price point than our 6-ounce cups.”

I have been one of the extremely lucky people to have tried carbonated yogurt on many occasions…in fact I was brought up on it, since the inventor of this technology happens to be my father. This was one of our favorite treats and was a huge hit at gatherings, including weddings, parties and at the local university cafeteria and creamery! They are marketing this for kids, which is a fun idea, but it is awesome for adults, too. Of course, Yoplait is using their own recipe geared toward the kid crowd and I hope to see the fizz spread to the more adult products as well. It is a very fun and classy touch to any party spread.
Keep in mind that the patent for this technology is the product of decades of honest hard work by a modest university professor (and his supporters) whose humble nature and tireless effort stems from his farm boy roots. The success of this fizzy new technology to me means the success of a creative mind with the scientific knowledge to develop it and the ingenuity to perfect it all the way to a marketable product. Hail to hard workers and free thinkers! This is the American Dream at its best.

I really love this stuff. It is a great product with a fun new kick. Yogurt is great, but adding this “fizz” just makes it that much better. Don’t be afraid of trying something new. Grab one for your lunch or just a great snack, you’ll love it!!
