Join the Dairy Calf & Heifer Association for its annual conference and trade show, in Lake Geneva, Wis., April 5-6, 2011. The “Welcome to Dairyland” conference offers the latest in production information and techniques, provides great hands-on business management training and includes live animal demonstrations to increase the awareness of animal husbandry among producers.
“We are excited to be heading to Wisconsin, the heart of dairyland for the 2011 annual conference. This is the premier event in the dairy calf and heifer replacement industry,” said Lewis Anderson, DCHA past president and chairman of the 2011 Conference Committee. “We bring together an elite group of individuals and ask them to present material that producers can use on their operations to be more efficient and profitable.”
The three areas on which the conference will focus are educational sessions featuring the latest industry information that growers and producers can use to improve their operations and their bottom line right away, an emphasis on the importance of good environmental stewardship and animal husbandry, and personal and professional growth through connections with industry leaders, fellow professionals and old and new friends.
The DCHA Conference will once again feature the highly instructive live animal demonstrations. Licensed veterinarians will provide hands-on learning opportunities for producers to sharpen their skills and adapt new techniques for their operations. This additional educational portion of the conference allows producers to ensure that they are handling and caring for their animals in the most humane way possible.
“The live animal demonstrations present conference goers with applied, not theoretical, humane handling techniques that they can take back to their operations,” said DCHA President Bob Patrick, DVM. “These practical demonstrations feature skills to improve the care and handling of calves and heifers.”
The trade show, historically a sell-out, offers conference attendees a chance to learn about dairy’s hottest new trends and talk with company representatives about what will work best in their operations.
