Dairy Women Named Regional Winners

Two dairy farm women were chosen as regional winners of the annual “Farm Mom of the Year Contest.” Congratulations to Mary Ann Bansen and Tina Marie Hinchley!

Mary Ann and her husband Pete are the owners and operators of a pasture based dairy farm which has been in their family for almost 100 years. They milk 500 Jersey cows in Ferndale, CA. One of Mary Ann’s responsibilities on the dairy farm is to keep informed of all the changes and requirements dairy farms are required to make. Her duties also include raising calves and making silage.

farm-mom-hinchley2013 Midwest Region Winner: Tina Marie Hinchley
Hinchley’s Dairy Farm is a family owned and operated dairy and cash crop farm in Wisconsin. Tina and her husband farm 2300 acres which includes corn, soybeans, wheat, alfalfa and a few acres of pumpkins. On the dairy part of our farm, they milk 105 registered Holstein cows and raise replacement heifers, along with many other farm animals. In 1997, they opened their farm up to the public and began hosting farm tours daily from April through November.
