December USDA Hearing on MMO Pricing Formulas
The National Milk Producers Federation says that USDA will hold a hearing in December at its request to consider new pricing formulas for Class I and II milk.
CWT Export Assistance Bids
Here’s the latest announcement from Cooperatives Working Together:
Cooperatives Working Together announced today that it accepted three export assistance bid last week for the sale of anhydrous milkfat and cheese. The bids are all from Dairy Farmers of America of Kansas City, MO: one for the export of 907 metric tons (1.99 million pounds) of milkfat to Mexico, a second for the export of another 900 metric tons (1.98 million lbs.) of anhydrous milkfat to Mexico, and a third for the export of 120 metric tons (264,000 lbs.) of Cheddar cheese to Japan. CWT will pay an export bonus to the bidder, once completion of the milkfat and cheese shipments is verified.
Dairy Policy Paper
The IDFA is happy to point out a Cato Institute paper that calls for dairy policy changes. The paper was released just over a week ago and will be quoted a lot I’m sure as we lead up to a new farm bill.

CWT Export Assistance Bids
Here’s the latest announcement from Cooperatives Working Together:
Cooperatives Working Together announced today that it accepted three export assistance bids last week for the sale of cheese and anhydrous milkfat. One bid is from Dairy Farmers of America of Kansas City, MO, for the export of 35 metric tons (77,000 pounds) of anhydrous milkfat to Mexico. The other two bids are from Land O’Lakes of Arden Hills, MN: one for the export of 40 metric tons (88,000 lbs.) of Mozzarella cheese to South Korea, and another for 20 metric tons (44,000 lbs.) of Mozzarella cheese to Japan. CWT will pay an export bonus to the bidders, once completion of the cheese and milkfat shipments is verified.
