Sounds like a fine idea to me. I sat at an Ohio State Ag Alumni awards banquet last year with an alum from the dairy biz. I was thrilled, being a multi-gallon per week milk drinker, when he ordered a pitcher of the milk for the whole table. His comment was that he was always amazed when he took his dairy clients to dinner that they rarely ordered milk, so he ordered it for them. Sounds like a good policy to me, like fueling your farm equipment with soy biodiesel or driving a flex-fuel car.
Mischa's Got Milk
The latest addition to the MilkPep “Got Milk” campaign is actress Mischa Barton. She credits the nutrients in milk for helping keep her healthy and strong during the hectic pace of filming. The ad copy reads: “Take 9. On the set they are screaming ‘action’ all day. And thanks to the 9 essential nutrients in milk, I’ve always got what it takes to nail it.” The ad debuts in Teen People.

It's Dairy Month (in case you forgot)
You know we have to mention the fact that it’s Dairy Month. The first organization to alert us to this fact is the Iowa State Dairy Association. Way to go. They want everyone to know that, “The ISDA is proud to represent the hard-working dairy farm families of Iowa for all they do to produce high-quality products and for all their contributions to Iowa’s economy.”
Milk And The Indy Winner
I had hoped to have taken this picture myself since I was attending the Indy 500 but my credentials didn’t allow me in to get the photo. So this one is courtesy of the Indy Racing League.

I won’t be in Indianapolis until tomorrow evening. You can see my Indy 500 coverage on sister websites, AgWired and Domestic Fuel. Today though the fastest rookie was honored by the American Dairy Association of Indiana. He’s Marco Andretti and he’s winner number 32.
Cows On Parade Again
We all know June is Dairy Month and to celebrate it the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board is once again bringing the Cow Parade to Wisconsin. These 101 “cows” will join the 1.2 million dairy cows already in the state. The kick-off event will be at the State Capitol on June 3. That’s the annual Cows on the Concourse event which also features live cows.
Have A Milk Moment To Share
Lactaid wants everyone to enjoy what they call, “Milk Moments.” In fact, they are having a contest to win a $10,000 kitchen makeover. They describe Milk Moments as, “the joy that comes with seeing kids take part in a milk mustache contest, the instant that your cereal begins to snap and pop when you splash your milk on it, or even the time when you and your sisters huddled over hot chocolates listening to a bedtime story by grandma.”

Persuading their way into history, the sign-holding cows of Chick-fil-A were inducted into the Outdoor Advertising Hall of Fame last month, joining the likes of Budweiser, Bank of America, Target, Nike, Coca-Cola, and Levi’s.
